After driving the 2013 Sonata Hybrid, we can say it's a definite improvement on the first two years of Sonata Hybrid.

But it's functional; you'll find an iconographic representation of a person for the climate controls and door trim that flows in well-coordinated fashion into the dash—all aspects we appreciate.

Reviews Word on the street for the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid

The 2013 Hyundai Sonata has a handsome and smooth but adventurous look, and remains a standout among staid mid-size sedans.

For 2013, the Sonata receives minimal changes with the exception of the discontinued six-speed manual transmission, which leaves the six-speed automatic as the only transmission.

Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual (in GLS trim only) or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

What People Are Saying Give it to me straight

If you're looking for more spirited driving, the Sonata Turbo comes with a 274-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine.
by cars.com (Jun, 2012)
The EPA gives the entry-level Sonata 24/35 mpg with the six-speed automatic.
by The Car Connection (Aug, 2013)
The manual-gearbox version has been dropped for 2013; luckily, the automatic is perfectly appropriate for the class, and is a responsive, seamless gearchanger.
by The Car Connection (Aug, 2013)

The Limited also gets standard heated front and rear seats; a sunroof; a backup camera; automatic climate control; and an automatic dimming rearview mirror.

The Sonata Limited also gets standard heated front and rear seats; a sunroof; a backup camera; automatic climate control; and an automatic dimming rearview mirror.
by The Car Connection (Aug, 2013)
Available in SE or Limited trim levels, the 2.0T uses a six-speed automatic.
by cars.com (Jun, 2012)

Despite paring back total system output from 206 to 199 horsepower, the larger battery and motor bring a heaping helping of fresh torque—overall twist increases from 193 lb-ft to 235—that notably impacts the Sonata hybrid’s acceleration performance.
by Car and Driver (Jul, 2013)
The 2013 Sonata hybrid shows how quickly Hyundai can move to address criticism, with improved efficiency, packaging, and acceleration, but addressing the EPA’s concerns clearly (and understandably) trumped delivering driving pleasure.
by Car and Driver (Jul, 2013)
Hyundai says this version will hit 60 mph in 9.2 seconds, well within the acceptable range for a family sedan, while delivering gas mileage of 36/40 mpg.
by The Car Connection (Aug, 2013)

Following the exterior design theme, the Sonata's interior is a mix of bold shapes, smooth finishes and lots of attractive blue backlighting.
by KBB (May, 2013)
Like its dynamic exterior, the 2013 Hyundai Sonata's interior is a work of art.
by KBB (May, 2013)
Both of the upholstery options are pleasing, but we like the textured fabric, and its soft-but-rugged sportswear feel, a bit better than the heavily processed leather-and it serves to help hold you in place.
by The Car Connection (Aug, 2013)

Given its generous level of standard equipment, its lengthy warranty and rising residual values, the Sonata offers perhaps the best value of the group.
by KBB (May, 2013)
And the fact that they're standard on both the SE and Limited trim makes them even more attractive.
by KBB (May, 2013)
Hyundai is renowned for outfitting its vehicles with a comprehensive serving of standard features, and the 2013 Sonata is no exception.
