We've driven Fusions with manual and power seats, and found excellent front-seat space and comfort in both, though on the manual seats, there's a little too much front-end tilt to the bottom cushion for our tastes.
by The Car Connection (Aug, 2013)
We keep circling back to the Fusion's looks, because it's easy to spot the influences that accumulate to a very handsome, sleek whole.

Reviews Word on the street for the Ford Fusion Energi

9.0
A little more grunty than the "big" 2.0-liter, the 1.6-liter has the eager feel in common-it's the low torque peak, but it's also the availability of a really well-engineered six-speed manual transmission as a fun alternative to the six-speed automatic.

8.2
The brakes felt good under foot with none of the soggy or unpredictable feedback you can find in other hybrids and fully electric vehicles.

7.9
Under its sleek hood, Ford has replaced the past V6 engine options with a choice of two small-but-powerful and fuel-efficient turbocharged 4-cylinder powerplants.

8.4 Out of 10

What People Are Saying Give it to me straight

Powertrain

A smooth shifting 6-speed automatic transmission is standard except in the hybrids, which use a continuously variable transmission (CVT), and the 1.6 turbo which offers a sterling 6-speed manual as a no-cost option.
by KBB (Jan, 2013)
Teamed to a six-speed automatic and front- or all-wheel drive, it's good for gas mileage of 22/33 mpg, or 26 mpg combined, Ford says.
by The Car Connection (Aug, 2013)
It's an "EcoBoost," the term Ford uses to smaller-displacement engines with turbocharging and direct injection, meant to replace larger-displacement engines in its lineup.
by The Car Connection (Aug, 2013)

Engine

The Fusion Hybrid yields an EPA-estimated 47 mpg combined, and is a smooth operator while earning that lofty figure.1.6-LITER TURBOCHARGED ENGINEAs with its use in the 2013 Ford Escape, this small-yet-mighty powerplant feels like the Goldilocks of the Fusion's gasoline engine choices.
by KBB (Jan, 2013)
The Fusion Titanium has a much more satisfying base engine.
by The Car Connection (Aug, 2013)
Taut handling and turbocharged engines give the Fusion an enthusiastic feel without too sharp an edge.
by The Car Connection (Aug, 2013)

Transmission

The Altima, Camry and Accord come standard with their most fuel-efficient engines and cost $22,280, $22,850 and $23,270, respectively, with automatic transmissions.
by cars.com (Sep, 2012)
It has almost all of the above equipment standard-including parking sensors; rearview camera; a Sony audio system; MyFord Touch; power front seats; HD Radio; pushbutton start; automatic climate control; 18-inch wheels; aluminum interior trim; and remote start.
by The Car Connection (Aug, 2013)
The $24,495 Fusion SE also comes standard with the normally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder and automatic; it adds standard satellite radio; more speakers (two more, for a total of six); a 10-way power driver seat; and 17-inch wheels.
by The Car Connection (Aug, 2013)

Interior

The interior volume of 118.8 cubic feet is just a cube or so shy of the EPA's full-size hurdle; trunk space of 16 cubic feet is good, if not titanic like the bigger Taurus and its 20-cubic-foot whopper.
by The Car Connection (Aug, 2013)
And to take this buttonless world to a new extreme, controls for the map lights in the roof console of all Fusion models are also capacitive touch.
by cars.com (Sep, 2012)
The dash cap is soft to the touch, though, and the switches and controls operate with precision, down to the soft, vibration-free thump of the doors as they latch closed.
by The Car Connection (Aug, 2013)

Performance

Ford hasn't released performance estimates, but based on the power and weight differences from the last-generation Fusion, it's likely the front-drive version can accelerate to 60 mph in about 7.5 seconds.
by The Car Connection (Aug, 2013)
When operating in EV mode, the Fusion is down 70 horsepower compared with hybrid mode, but the decrease is masked by the electric motor’s immediately available torque and good accelerator-pedal response, which makes launches from rest feel quick enough.
by Car and Driver (Jun, 2013)
About as powerful as the base engine, it makes 178 hp and its 184 lb-ft of torque are developed at a much lower 2500 rpm.
