8.3 Out of 10
A number of modifications to the chassis, suspension and steering have transformed the 2013 Honda Civic into a surprisingly adept performer.
by KBB (Apr, 2013)
The 2013's hood is more bulbous, while the grille and lower styling feature more chrome accents and a look that's more thought-out and stylized than the 2012's dull rectangular shapes.

Reviews Word on the street for the Honda Civic

No more compromise: Honda has really amped up the standard features in the 2013 Civic, with Bluetooth and even Pandora integration now standard.

The Civic's main engine is still a 140-horsepower, 1.8-liter four-cylinder in LX, HF, EX and EX-L trim levels, with a choice of a five-speed automatic or five-speed manual transmission in the base model only — all other trim levels use the five-speed automatic.

Its ergonomics are nearly flawless and most of the controls are a cinch to operate.

What People Are Saying Give it to me straight

Unlike the HF, which is an automatic-only proposition, both the Dart and Cruze can be had with a manual transmission, which brings their respective price stickers to a more competitive $20,190 and $20,490.
by Car and Driver (May, 2013)
EPA gas mileage ratings for the automatic transmission are 28/39/32 mpg city/highway/combined for LX, EX and EX-L models, while the extra-efficient HF version is rated 29/41/33 mpg thanks to aerodynamic enhancements. The manual-transmission LX is rated a lower 28/36/31 mpg. High-performance Si trims can only be had with a 201-hp, 2.4-liter four-cylinder mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The Si is rated 22/31/25 mpg.
by cars.com (Mar, 2013)
The Cruze may not have a standard backup camera or advanced phone functions like the Civic, but it does offer features the base Civic doesn't have, including automatic headlights and satellite radio.
by cars.com (Mar, 2013)

Now with a full tank of value and style, the 2013 Honda Civic is much better prepared to take on the segment's best with an arsenal of ultra-competitive standard features.
by cars.com (Mar, 2013)
Backup cameras as standard equipment will likely be mandated soon by the government in all cars for safety reasons; official dates and ruling are still pending.
by cars.com (Mar, 2013)
The Civic's wide array of active and passive safety features are included as standard issue across the line.
by KBB (Apr, 2013)

In either model, with the Civic's steeply angled windshield, there's a sense that the dash extends considerably into the cabin (with funky contours that you're either going to love or hate).
by The Car Connection (Jul, 2013)
Interior appointments essentially carry over-with decent front seats but back-seat accommodations that could be better contoured.
by The Car Connection (Jul, 2013)
Honda has made major gains in refinement translate to a far more pleasant cabin experience.
by The Car Connection (Jul, 2013)

The Civic was already a good choice for the safety-minded, while a standard backup camera, a strengthened structure, and new airbags make this year's model more secure than ever.
by The Car Connection (Jul, 2013)
The 2013 Honda Civic is the stylish, high-quality compact that should have come out for 2012, now offering unheard-of standard features and innovation.
by cars.com (Mar, 2013)
Electronic stability control is standard on the Civic, as are anti-lock brakes, side-curtain airbags for front and rear occupants, and front-seat side bags.
by The Car Connection (Jul, 2013)

This still ain't a Ferrari, but compared with the 2012, the new styling is a huge step forward.
by cars.com (Mar, 2013)
It's just too played-out of a styling cue and looks tired on arrival.
by The Car Connection (Jul, 2013)
In this generation, they're a little more sculpted—including a raked-upward character line—yet the roofline looks remarkably familiar, and the Civic's footprint hasn't changed much in many years.
